OUR MISSION
The mission of the J. Harold Smith Bible Institute & Pastor Training Center is to bring glory to Jesus Christ through the training and equipping of pastors and lay leaders in the skills and knowledge of effective ministry.  Participation and study is centered on practical application.
 
OUR MINISTRY
It is the ministry of the Smith Center to provide opportunities for continuing education in certificate-path programs and ministry-enriching experiences through sound biblical teaching, local church networking, and experienced pastoral mentoring.  Classes are held at churches that are committed to being ministry training centers and are taught by pastors who have a wealth of ministerial experience and training.  The wisdom that comes from years of ministerial experience is shared in every class by pastors who have applied theological truth in real-life church settings.
 
OUR METHOD
The method of the Smith Center is reflected in our core values.  We are all about making our studies convenient for your schedule, financially feasible for any learner, and centrally located to those who want to learn.
  • Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday nights, 6:00-8:30. Tuesday nights at FBC Morristown and Thursday nights at the Knox County Baptist Association office.
  • Cost:  $200.00 per class.  If the student is a pastor or serving on staff in a church the cost is discounted to $100.  If your desire is to only "sit-in" on the class and not work toward a Certificate of Biblical Preaching, the cost will be $50.
  • Classes will meet for 8 weeks, 4 times a year (Fall, Winter and Spring)
