Reese Sanders

Reese currently serves as Minister of Pastoral Care.  He ministers to those who are in health care units, nursing homes, and those who are home bound.  He also ministers to those who have recently lost a loved one and are transitioning to life as a widow.

Reese attended college at Carson Newman University in Tennessee.  He graduated from South Western Baptist Theological Seminary with a Bachelor of Divinity degree.  He served as a Minister in numerous churches in Tennessee and Texas before becoming the Minister at Zion in 1974.  He served as Minister for 25 years until 1999.  While he was Minister the new sanctuary was built, and the church acquired property where the baseball field, Family Life Center and parking lots are currently.  After retiring from Zion he served as the interim Pastor at Harvest Baptist Church before returning to Zion as Minister of Pastoral Care.

Reese is a native of Rex Georgia.  He was married to Laura Lee Gibson for 56 years before her passing.  He has three sons, five grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.  Reese likes to hunt, fish, and camp with his family in his free time.
