Our Program
2018 - 2019 School Year
Our faith based educational programs are offered for children ages two through five. Monthly tuition fees are paid on the first class meeting of each month; checks should be made payable to WUMC Weekday School. A $50.00 nonrefundable registration fee per family is due at registration. A supply and activity fee is due at the first class meeting in September ($50/2 day classes, $75/3 day classes, $100/5 day classes). Group size is limited to no more than 10 children to one teacher ratio. As required by the state: a health inventory with a doctor's signature, immunization record, and emergency information card must be on file for each child in attendance. (Forms are provided by MSDE).
Most morning classes meet from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with the exception of Young 3's and 3's. These classes meet from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
The Transitional K class meets from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Afternoon programs meet from 12:15 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.
Lunch Bunch will be offered to our morning 4s and Pre-K classes in 8 week sessions 2 or 3 times a week, depending on participation. Unfortunately the timing of the afternoon classes does not allow lunch bunch for those students.
Regular conferences are scheduled during January and April. Two day a week classes are only scheduled for January conferences due to limited class time. We provide age appropriate assessments that focus on cognitive, social, and behavioral development. These conferences are 15-20 minutes in length and are held during normal class time. The children do not attend Weekday School on these days.
Program Descriptions
YOUNG 3’S: This program is designed to be a mixed-age group for children ages two or three years. Supervised play, art and craft activities, and alternating quiet and active times describe a bit of the routine. Toilet training is not required. A Teacher's Assistant is always present. Disposable diapers or pull-ups are supplied by the parent, as needed. Young 3s will need to be 3 by March 1, 2019. Students meet two mornings per week for 2.5 hours.
PROGRAM FOR THREES: The three’s classes meet two days per week for 2.5 hours. Groups are limited to 10 children per 1 teacher ratio. To be eligible for the threes, a child must be 3 years old by September 1, 2018. Toilet training is required. This program is designed for students who are experiencing school and/or any structured time away from mom and dad for the first time.
PROGRAM FOR OLDER THREES: The Older 3s classes meet three days a week for 3 hours. Groups are limited to 10 children per 1 teacher ratio. To be eligible for the Older 3s, a child will need to be 3 by March 1, 2018. Toilet training is required. These students participate in the beginning workbooks that support the Handwriting Without Tears program.
PROGRAM FOR FOURS AND PRE-K: Groups are limited to 10 children per 1 teacher ratio. The child must be 4 years old by September 1, 2018 (some exceptions will be made for the 4s program which will allow students with September birthdays to enter early - must turn 4 by September 30, 2018). Toilet training is required. 4s classes meet three days a week for 3 hours and Pre-K meets 5 days a week for 3 hours. Both programs work off of the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum and learn with math manipulatives. The Pre-K class works at a faster pace since they meet five days a week. No children may attend both morning and afternoon on the same day.
TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN: Groups are limited to 8 children per 1 teacher ratio. The child must be five by November 1, 2018 but exceptions may be made. Groups meet 5 days a week for 5 hours. Students bring their own lunch. Instruction is based on a more advanced curriculum.

Checks should be made payable to WUMC Weekday School with child’s name and class noted. Tuition is due on the 1st of every month. After the 10th, a late fee of $25 will be added.
If two children from the same family are enrolled, the second child’s tuition is reduced by 20 percent.
If a child is absent from school due to illness for more than half the class sessions, fee is reduced by one-half for the month. A doctor’s note is required.
