Core Values

Our Core Values are thoroughly biblical and they grow out of spiritual insights regarding the nature of God's purpose for His creation. In the following core values, a few scriptural references are provided that reflect the metatheme (the underlying root theme) of God's communication to human beings. Our Core Values inform and shape our ministry and mission. Our Core Values are principles that shape our character or qualities and propel us to accomplish our mission. 

Our Core Values define the preferred culture of Way of Hope Global Ministries.

Hope: Hope is a Christian virtue that anchors one’s soul when one navigates the challenging waters of life.

Ø "For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope" (Romans 15:4).

Ø "If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men" (I Corinthians 15:19).

Ø "For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently" (Romans 8:24,25).

Love: love is the master key to harmonious relationships and tremendous ministry expansion. It is the hub around which Christianity evolves.

Ø  "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love" (I Corinthians 13:13).

Ø  "Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets” (Matthew 22:37-40). 

Ø  "And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him" (I John 4:16).

Faith: By faith, we believe in God and His Word no matter what the circumstances are and we look forward to spending eternity in heaven.

Ø "Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. And without faith it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews 11:1,6).

Ø "For in the Gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: 'The righteous will live by faith'" (Romans 1:17).

Ø "Therefore the promise comes by faith, so, that it may be by grace to all Abraham’s offspring – not only to those who are of the law but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. … He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed – the God who gives life to the dead and call things that are not as though they were" (Romans 4:16,17).

Truth: The truth of God’s word gives us wisdom, and serves as the compass that directs us in all we do for the rest of our lives.

Ø "Jesus answered: 'I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me'"(John 14:6).

Ø “You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures which testify of me” (John 5:39).

Ø "The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God stands forever" (Isaiah 40:8).

Transformation: Redemption is available to us and the rest of the world, because Jesus shed His blood at Calvary in order to save us from sin and damnation.

Ø "For God so loved the world that he gave His only SON that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him" (John 3:16,17).

Ø “But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord” (II Corinthians 3:18).

Ø "The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some men understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance" (II Peter 3:9).

Covenant: We are soldiers in the God’s army with the avowed determination to serve our Commander-in-chief. Our motto is “No retreat, no surrender.”

Ø  “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah—not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord. But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more” (Jeremiah 31:31-34).

Ø  "I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered" (Psalm 89:34).

Ø  "What if God, choosing to…and making His power known, bore with great patience the objects of His wrath - prepared for destruction? What if He did this to make the riches of His glory known to the objects of His mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory - even us, whom He also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles" (Romans 9:23,24)?

Empowerment: The Spirit of God transformationally partners with Christians and equips us with the gifts of the Spirit for the awesome responsibility of reaching the world and ministering healing where there is sickness and hurt!

Ø "For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the manifestation of the sons of God" (Romans 8:19). 

Ø  "Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous power, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues" (I Corinthians 12:7-10).

Ø  “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. … And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; …they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well” (Mark 16:15-18).  

Holiness:Becoming spiritually disciplined helps Christians to gravitate towards purity, sanctification and holiness.

Ø  "The burning sand will become a pool, the thirsty ground bubbling springs. In the haunts where jackals once lay, grass and reeds and papyrus will grow. And a highway will be there; it will be called the way of holiness. The unclean will not journey in it; it will be for those who walk in that way … only the redeemed will walk there" (Isaiah 35:7-9).

Ø  "Be perfect therefore, as your Heavenly Father is perfect" (Matthew 5:48).    

Ø  "Make every effort to live in peace with all men and be holy; without holiness no man will see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14).

Justice: Because we are created equal, it is despicable for privileged people and those in positions of authority to use their power to oppress the vulnerable and less privileged.

Ø  "When an alien lives with you in your land, do not mistreat him. The alien living with you must be treated as one of your native-born. Love him as yourself, for you were aliens in Egypt. I am the Lord your God" (Leviticus 19:33,34).

Ø  "There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28).       

Ø  "Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is just, whatever is pure … if anything is excellent or praiseworthy - think about such things" (Philippians 4:8).

Ø  "Until we all reach the unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming" (Ephesians 4:13,14).

Service: The interposition of the Holy Spirit in the lives of Christians equips us do all He has called us to accomplish.

Ø "Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality" (Romans 12:10-13). 

Ø  "God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable" (Romans 11:29).

Ø  "Whatsoever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men" (Colossians 3:23).

Excellence: We will do our best to exceed normal expectations. We refuse to settle for less.

Ø  "Then this Daniel distinguished himself above the governors and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king gave thought to setting him over the whole realm" (Daniel 6:3).

Ø  "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him" (Colossians 3:17). 

Ø   "Those who have served well gain an excellent standing and great assurance in their faith in Christ Jesus" (I Timothy 3:13).
