Vacation Tips for Christians
1. Take the Lord along with you on your vacation. His presence will give you a sense of Divine protection. On the weekends, His presence will channel your steps toward church. Here you will find spiritual refreshment and allow you to see how other congregations operate.
2. Write your pastor. Every Monday morning drop your pastor a note from the church you attended. Enclose a bulletin. This consideration of your pastor will be deeply appreciated both b him and church family back home.
3. Don't take a vacation at the expense of your church. Never forget that while you are away, church expenses continue as usual and in the same amounts as at any other time of the year. If it is not convenient for you to leave your church offering envelope with the treasurer before you do away, be sure to mail them faithfully each week during your absence.
4. When you come back, come back to church. Nothing take the joy out of a well-earned vacation more than having to use your new-found strength in rushing back home! Remember, return home in safety, return to work refreshed, and most importantly, return to church in newness of faith. (YGN/June 2007)
