2015 Pettaquamscutt Paddle:
"Best Night of the Summer"

Friday Night Traffic (July 31, 2015). It was a beautiful July evening in Rhode Island, so thousands headed for the South County beaches. But not all of the traffic was on Route 4. Here, some of the participants (and we said some) in the 8th Annual Pettaquamscutt Paddle exit Pettaquamscutt Cove and take a right to head to Narragansett Beach for the rise of a Blue Moon.

And they got what they paddled for. It's all about timing: full buck moon rising over the Narrows, sun setting behind Tower Hill, egrets landing on a marsh, ospreys feeding their young and a still flowing tide, as the paddlers headed back to Narrow River Kayaks for refreshments, a raffle and, oh yes, a few stories about traffic on a Friday night.

Many thanks to Jason Considine and his crew at Narrow River Kayaks for all their hard work and their support of NRPA!
