The FUMC Food Pantry

CROS Ministries opened a North County food pantry in Jupiter in January, 2011. It is open to anyone in need of emergency food assistance, and is located at the Jupiter Neighborhood Resource Center, 106 Military Trail, Jupiter. Hours are 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday and Friday

First United Methodist Church of Jupiter-Tequesta provides the storage room for delivery of foods for the pantry from other churches and community agencies. Folk at the church assimilate the food into appropriate bags, and deliver them to the Food Pantry each week.

Since opening, the pantry has served 1164 individuals and 536 families. Food items that are regularly needed are: Vegetables (cans), tuna, meat, chili, soup, macaroni & cheese, peanut butter, pasta, spaghetti-O’s, rice, and beans.

CROS is also designated as an Access Site program, providing assistance for people applying for food stamps, Medicaid, and SSI cash assistance living in Jupiter and the surrounding area.

In 2010, CROS food pantry programs provided emergency food assistance to 40,000 individuals in Pam Beach County. 50% of those served were children.

CROS is a United Methodist Church Urban Ministry, and collaborates with people of different faiths and organizations to create solutions to the unmet needs of people in our community.
