Dr. L. Lane Collins is a native of Macon, Georgia and has been happily married to the former Julie Price for 27 years. They are proud parents of two sons: Garrett, 24, and Brantley, 21. He holds degrees from Mercer University (BA Christianity, 1989) and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (Master of Divinity, 1993 & Doctor of Ministry, 2014). He has also served as Chaplain for the Cochran-Bleckley Fire Department since 2006.
Accepting God's Call to the Christian ministry when he was 20 years-old, Lane has faithfully served for 28 years. Having led various student ministries in Georgia and Tennessee for the first 18 years of his ministry, Lane was Senior Pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Cochran, GA for 12 years. Zion Baptist Church called him as Senior Pastor in September, 2017, His passion centers on expository preaching where he consistently focuses on missional and evangelistic themes. His sincere desire to see all people accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and see them mature in their faith. Only through following Christ will they become committed followers intern ton reaching others with the same gospel.
Lane's hobbies include reading, writing, yard work, spending time with his family, and watching all types of sports.... especially UGA football, basketball, and baseball. Lane looks forward to meeting you and your family in the near future here at Zion Baptist Church, in the community, or elsewhere.
