Porch de Salomon

In June of 2014, 34 members of New Prov headed to Panajachel, Guatemala to participate in a mission to build homes and host VBS for the local children. The ministry called Porch de Salomon "is a response to God calling several families and their friends into lives of love and service in Panajachel, Guatemala. We hope to bring the passion of the first century church to those who live in a 21st century world. Solomon's Porch was an ancient, open place where people seeking transformation gathered to explore Jesus of Nazareth's radical message of love and redemption."

 

On June 2, 2018, another group of New Providence youth, college students and adults returned to Panajachel, Guatemala to be the hands and feet of Jesus to indigenous families. Despite an erupting volcano on the other side of the country, they began construction on modest cinder block houses and made friendships that lasted far beyond their time in Panajachel.
