God truly desires to send us out into the harvest to tell others about His great love. When Jesus looked over the crowds He saw them as sheep without a shepherd. He knew their condition and certainly knew they needed salvation. We must see our community as Jesus does. We need to Visualize and come to grips with their needs. Jesus then Agonized over their lost condition. He desperately wanted them to turn to Him for salvation. He was moved with compassion. Our prayer should be to not only see what Jesus sees, but to feel what Jesus feels! If we see like Jesus and if we feel what Jesus felt then we will all Evangelize. We will all gain boldness to tell others about our Lord. Evangelism is simply announcing or proclaiming the good news. We have good news. We must share that news with all we come in contact with. Jesus preached to large crowds, but He also took the time to minister to others one on one. When is the last time you shared with someone about Jesus? If we do not reach out to others and evangelize then unfortunately we will eventually Fossilize! Fossil is defined as something preserved in a mineralized or petrified form from a past geologic age. It is a remnant impression. The church of Jesus Christ must never be a fossil. A fossil can also be defined as “one whose views are outmoded” or “something that has become rigidly fixed.” Our command is not to just “sit here until we die.” We are saved not to sit but to serve others just as Jesus did. Oh God help us to do whatever it takes to reach others for You. Jesus said, “As the Father has sent Me, SO SEND I YOU.” Here am I Lord, send me. May this be the desire of every one of our hearts. For the harvest is indeed plentiful, but the laborers are few!
