Sammy is a career missionary with the North American Mission Board serving in the state of Alabama. He has parlays his former educational experiences in the fields of community and economic development planning, and Christian Social Work in ways that enable churches to mobilize their members to discover, develop, and live-out a passion for missions in the development of relevant outreach ministries and church planting.
Currently, as the Church Planting Strategist, he provides consultation to churches interested in sponsoring new church plants, facilitates the start of church plants, and aides in development of revitalization strategies for existing churches in transitioning communities through social research analysis. These studies provide an analysis of socio-economic factors and environmental conditions which help or hinder a new work.
He holds a Doctors of Ministry Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, a Master’s Degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and a Master’s Degree from Western Illinois University.
He is married to Joyce since 1981. They have two adult children.
