A longtime minister in the Birmingham area, Michael came to the BBA from South Roebuck Baptist Church where he served as Executive Pastor since 2005. Prior to that he serves is similar positions at Jackson Way Baptist Church in Huntsville, Hilldale Baptist Church in Center Point, and Wilkes Baptist Church in Midfield.

Michael graduated from Dothan High School (1967). He earned a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Samford University (1973), a Master of Christian Education Degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary (1993), and has done extensive continuing education in the area of Leadership through the Doctor of Ministries program of that seminary.

From 1977 through 1988 Michael was employed by Vulcan, Inc., a metals fabricating and decorating group of companies in Foley, Alabama. There he worked in a variety of supervisory and management positions. That corporate experience provided to him an excellent practical business administration education which continues to inform his work with Birmingham Baptist. During those years he served part time at Foley First Baptist Church.

He is married to Carol since 1973. They are active members of South Roebuck Baptist Church and The Chapel (a church plant in Argo out of South Roebuck Baptist Church). They have three adult children and five grandchildren.
