Jesus the Messiah came in glory at the destruction of the Temple in 70 AD because he was the enthroned Son of Man foretold by Daniel the prophet. When Jesus described the coming judgment, he insisted that the gospel would be preached to all nations. Those Gentiles people who were accustomed to accessing God through Israel and through the Temple were told, before it was destroyed, that their access to God was secure, no longer through a people or place, but through One Man, the Christ, who lived and reigned in glory.
