This iconic invitation from Jesus to his disciples serves as a reminder of the importance of being a disciple. It is clear that Jesus wanted these men to be his followers, but what exactly does it mean to be a disciple? A disciple is one who follows the teachings of a master, and in the case of Jesus, this includes living out the teachings found in the Bible. It also means bearing fruit in our lives, as Jesus promised his disciples in the Gospels.
