Privilege has turned to presumption. The people of God, the Jewish people, had great privilege from the hands of their gracious God. Yet, Paul knew that in many instances, this privilege led to presuming upon God's grace. They assumed that in instructing others, they did not have to instruct themselves. Under the Law, they blasphemed the name of God. In Christ, we must remember that we are objects of God's grace and only by pointing to God's grace will we not blaspheme God's name as well.
