Summary

Knowledge of the deity of Christ -- or the ignorance of that great fact -- has significant implications for how we live. The scribes were ignorant of Jesus' deity, and lived only for themselves. The lives of Christ's followers -- those who are aware of and praise his deity -- resemble that of the poor widow, who was willing to submit lordship over her wealth (her poverty) and even her life to Jesus.
