Last year in our series on 1 Corinthians, I skipped over the passage where Paul addresses the issue of women and head coverings. I wasn't trying to avoid the passage, but rather it was a scheduling issue and I promised we would look at it this spring. However, as one commentator put it, "This passage is probably the most complex, controversial, and opaque of any text of comparable length in the New Testament."
Does that mean that 1 Corinthians 11:2-16 is so obscure and theoretical that it has no relevance for today? Not at all! There are important truths that affect our everyday life that we can still glean from this passage.
