Children's Education and Nursery

Our children are not only our most precious gift from God, they ARE the future. At Wesley Church, the goal of our children’s program is to help our young ones cultivate their own relationship with God and to grow in their understanding of the scriptures.  We also have hosted a Summer Vacation Bible School and have a Children's Library in our Great Hall.

Children's Sunday School is offered during the 10 am worship time each Sunday, for children through grade 6.  Children attend worship with their families until the Children's Message, after which they are dismissed to Sunday School.  This year, there will be one class for Pre-K through 2nd grade, and another class for children in grades 3-6.

Sunday School resume after summer break on Sunday, September 9, 2018.  Children are welcome to join at any time!

Youth in grades 7 and up are welcome to attend the Wesley Youth Group that meets weekly after church.

Children’s Collection is taken each Sunday. Funds collected are distributed according to three mission projects decided upon by the children in Sunday School.  Recently, the children voted to buy a pig through the Heifer Project, using money they have given to the children's offering over the past few years.  A total of $330.39 was sent to the Heifer Project - enough to purchase a pig and a cow!

Nursery care is provided for infants and toddlers through age 4 during the 10 a.m. worship time throughout the year.

WUMC is guided by Safe Sanctuary Policy as articulated by the United Methodist Church.   All of our adults who work with children are required to attend Safe Sanctuary Training and submit to a C.O.R.I. background check.
