Our Missions

Because we have been given much, God has given us many opportunities to reach the world for Christ. Could it be that He is preparing our church to be a catalyst to reach Nashville for Christ, as well as New York, Montana, Poland, East Africa, and the world? Jesus said: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8, NIV). Our Global and Local Missions Teams have adopted this “Acts 1:8” model as our missions strategy, that is to begin in our Jerusalem (Nashville) and to go into all the world as He leads us. We sincerely believe that God will provide the resources for us to fulfill that strategy.

1. Kenya—April 16-27, 2010 (trip cancelled**)

Purpose: Teacher Training

**Trip cancelled due to the cancellation of flights because of the volcanic activity in Iceland/Europe.**

2. The Gambia: May 19-28, 2010

Purpose: Evangelism

3. Mexico—Saltillo: May 29-June 5, 2010

Purpose: Construction

Coordinator: Ty Hasty, 377-3324

4. Iowa: June 11-19, 2010

Purpose: Disaster Relief & Construction

5. Poland—Krakow: June 25-July 4, 2010

Purpose: Bible Camp & Basketball Camp

6. Kenya—July 9-25, 2010

Purpose: Teacher Training

7. Fargo, ND: July 31-August 8, 2010

Purpose: Community Ministry, canvassing neighborhoods, hosting community picnic; Helping promote Mission Fargo

Local Missions (Our Jerusalem)

The Local Missions Projects Team seeks to provide regular church-wide opportunities for this congregation to participate in “Hands-on” missions in our Jerusalem – the Nashville Metro area. Special events are advertised on this web site and in church newsletters.

Each year, Forest Hills Baptist Church provides financial assistance and volunteers to assist these outstanding ministries in meeting their goals for the Kingdom. We fully endorse these ministries and encourage our members to support them with their time and money.

Disaster Relief (Our Judea and Samaria)

The Disaster Relief team at FHBC is led by Don Mauldin. Recently, our team has traveled several times to southern Louisiana and Mississippi to clean up and help rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.
