Not Bread Alone - Saturday, January 25
Annual Spaghetti Supper & Auction - Saturday, February 1

  Hospitality Helpers Needed
Wesley’s Hospitality Team needs some helpers. They are looking for 2 or 3 people to volunteer each week to donate an item for the fellowship snack table. Homemade items are always appreciated, but not necessary. Examples of items include: cheese & crackers, hummus and chips; fruit and/or vegetable bites; cookies, brownies or other baked goods.  The Hospitality Team also needs some folks to volunteer to help in the kitchen one or two Sundays each month, but if you cannot do that, simply donating food items would be a great help. Please see Celeste Lawler or Deb Henson for more information and/or to sign up for an upcoming Sunday.

Wesley Book Group
The Wesley Book Club will next meet on January 20th to discuss Sold on a Monday by Kristina McMorris. Future selections are The Island of Sea Women by Lisa See for the February 17th meeting.
The book club typically meets at the church from 7-8:30 on the third Monday of the month.
Everyone is welcome to come and discuss the book.

Not Bread Alone
Please come join us on Saturday, January 25 from  9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (or any part of the day you can serve)! This is an opportunity to capture the spirit of the holidays by giving of yourself. We volunteer at Not Bread Alone to prepare, serve and clean up the noon meal for those less fortunate at the First Congregational Church in Amherst.  Contact Bonnie Wroblewski for your availability or if you have any questions.

Monthly Food Drive
Wesley's food ministry includes a collection at the worship on the first Sunday of the month.  Our next collection will be Sunday, January 5, 2020 and will target the needs of Not Bread Alone, a community meal program in Amherst.
Here is a list of things they can use:
Napkins for bundling silverware - the larger size of "elegant" napkins
    Regular paper napkins
    Paper towels
    Cooking oil
Extra virgin olive oil (small amounts)
    Pine Sol for mopping floors
    Powdered dishwasher detergent
All-purpose cleaner refill bottles: Lysol, Spic and Span, whatever
Canned tomato products: paste, diced, sauce

Small Groups
Remember, the Christian life is not intended to be lived alone.  We were formed by God to be in connection:  with God and with one another.  Wesley’s small groups ministry is a way to get there.  Just follow the link for a listing of current offerings.  Please join us!
Any questions, please ask Julie Chalfant.

Thursday Spiritual Journey Group
Wesley's Spiritual Journey Group meets at the church every Thursday.  We begin with spiritual sharing and prayer from 1:00 - 1:30 pm.  The book study follows from 1:30 - 2:30 pm.  Please contact Jane Sicks by email with any questions.
New members are always welcome!

Monthly Healing Time after Worship
We invite you to partake of the healing graces of our loving God, either after service on the first Sunday of every month or during our Thursday evening prayer time.  We also would invite you to join our healing group if you are able to make the commitment and are willing to learn the principles of faith healing.  Please feel free to contact Cathy Bennett or Nancy Nash with any questions.

Safe Parking Reminder
Please remember that in an emergency, seconds really do count and there are times that, no matter how good the sprinkler system is, those systems could fail. All parking at Wesley needs to be in marked spots in our parking lot. Parking is only allowed in handicap spaces with the appropriate placard.  Recently we have had an increase of cars parking in non-marked spots during events. This does not allow police, fire, and EMS vehicles to access the church appropriately in the event of an emergency. Several of the Hadley FD vehicles plus some of the ambulances from Amherst FD cannot make the turn into the lane next to the church’s entrance when cars are parked illegally.  Please keep everyone’s safety in mind when parking here at Wesley.
