Quilters

Piecemakers Quilting and Sewing Group

Piecemakers' Mission: To use our time and talents in support of Trinity Heights UMC and the community and in the process to grow in the support of our church and community.

Piecemakers are a group of ladies who meet each Tuesday at Trinity Heights UMC.  The ladies are committed to quilting and sewing.

Piecemakers was organized in 1997 with a group of women interested in hand quilting and sewing.  Women from other churches in the community have been welcomed to this group.

The main objective of this group is to do custom hand quilting and the assembly of quilts.  The Quilters have stitched over 100 quilts for people in the community and across the state.

Another focus of the group is the making of pain pillows for Newton Medical Center.  Over 4,800 pain pillows have been made and given to the hospital.  Baby blankets and quilts have also been made and donated to the hospital and other organizations.

Other projects include making table runners, place mats, baby quilts, and a variety of hand crafted items.  These items are sold and all profits are given to the church and community.  The group has hosted bazaars and other types of sales.  Major donations have been made to the church and charitable organizations in the community.

If you are interested in joining this group or would like further information, please contact Marge Graham at 316-284-2086.
