Adult Sunday School Classes

Bridge Builders (Room 103) scripture background for the December lessons is from Ephesians.  The main theme of Ephesians is “the Church, the Body of Christ,” and emphasizes he importance of unity.  The lessons will focus on what the ideal Christian church should look like and how Christians should behave?  As a part of our study we will try to understand the connection between sound doctrine and right practice in the Christian life.

Challengers (Room201) will be studying James W. Moore’s book “Seizing the Moments.”  The class also has caroling planned for December.  Anyone is welcome to become part of their group.

Dream Makers (Room 203) are using a series of video lectures by Bart D. Ehrman on the history of the Bible.  He discusses when and how the books of the New Testament were written, how they were interpreted and how books were chosen to be part of the New Testament Canon.  Many of the Dream Makers class are in their late 50’s and 60’s, and are still working.  They welcome any age person.

Faith Builders (Room 102) will begin a sermon series by Adam Hamilton called “Advent Conspiracy.” Adam Hamilton explored the depth and meaning of the prophecies and how they were fulfilled in the birth of Jesus. Hamilton helps us consider what the events of Advent mean for our lives today and calls us to examine what has gone wrong in our typical approach to Christmas. He challenges us to prepare and celebrate Christmas in a remarkable new way, by spending less, giving more, and worshiping fully and loving all.  Faith Builders is a growing class of 30- and 40-year-olds studying relevant topics related to society and the church.  You are welcome to become a part!

Life Group (Murray Hall) is studying a Faith Lesson by Ray Vander Laan titled “With All Your Hear.” Faith Lessons are designed to help the viewer walk through the land that Jesus and the disciples walked, learn and understand how the culture and politics of the first century influenced the imagery and stories of the Bible, and see the text through the eyes of God's chosen people, the Jews. Each segment shows the Bible's significance to believers through life-changing 'faith lessons.’ This class is a collection of adults with college age children.  Anyone is welcome to visit or join anytime!

Wesley Workers (Room 204) follow an eclectic path of Christian nurture. The class is continuing their study of an Advent series by Adam Hamilton. Wesley Workers are primarily retirement age, and enjoy getting together for social events.  Visitors are more than welcome!
