Wesley UMC is a Reconciling Congregation which welcomes ALL, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. As such, we recognize that the exclusionary provisions of the Book of Discipline and recent vote at General Conference cause deep wounds to our brothers and sister in the LGBTQIA community, their allies, and the members of the congregation.
Therefore, the leadership of Wesley UMC pledges our refusal to conform or comply with the discriminatory provisions of the Book of Discipline which excludes full membership and inclusion for LGBTQIA people. We reject the notion that LGBTQIA lives are “incompatible with Christian teaching.” We will work in solidarity with all those who, like us, strive to move the United Methodist Church towards full inclusion.

Weather Cancellation Information:
If Sunday worship or an event at Wesley Church ever needs to be cancelled due to adverse weather, an announcement will be posted on CBS Channel 3 (WSHM), Fox Channel 61, and ABC News 40. You can go also online to view the closings by clicking here. Sunday worship will also be cancelled automatically in the event of a state of emergency declaration by the towns of Amherst and/or Hadley.
If your town has issued a no travel ban, please be attentive to this request for your own personal safety.
